Americans leaving the country to get better medical care

Earlier I had blogged about Americans having the highest medical costs in the world and getting lower quality care for it. Now I see that California allows HMO's to send patients to Mexico to see Mexican doctors. Yes, the day has come where Americans are leaving the country to get affordable health care. Americans are traveling to Canada to get prescriptions filled, working class Californians are going to Mexico to see the doctor.

"It's understandable that lower-income workers are trying to seek health care they can afford," he said. "But these people are largely paying taxes and contributing some of their own financial resources to this country. It's high time we provided good care for these people through enlightened public policy."(Emphasis mine)

So what is the USA going to do about it?
